A Letter from Mayor Brocato
When I became Mayor, one of my first initiatives was creating LEADERSHIP HOOVER. Building a strong city requires cultivating strong leaders. The objective of LEADERSHIP HOOVER is to connect leaders who are inspired and have a love for our city and a vision for moving Hoover and the region forward. In May 2018, we graduated our inaugural class and already we have seen several initiatives born out of that initial group. I am very excited to announce our 7th year of LEADERSHIP HOOVER which includes a class of adults who live or work in the Birmingham-Hoover metro area. It includes leaders and aspiring leaders who want to make a difference in their communities. Congratulations to those chosen participants. I am also excited to announce the inaugural IGNITE Hoover Youth Leadership program. The Class of 2024 includes 32 dynamic students from the Hoover community, As LEADERSHIP HOOVER and IGNITE Hoover Youth Leadership continue to grow, I have no doubt these organizations will continue to be strong voices in our city.
The purpose of Leadership Hoover is to develop a class of qualified, highly motivated individuals who are interested in expanding their leadership skills, deepening their sense of civic responsibility, and becoming more involved in helping their community as a whole while learning first-hand about the issues and needs in the City of Hoover.
