A Letter from Mayor Derzis
Leadership Hoover is dedicated to connecting and developing leaders who care deeply about our city and share a vision for its future. Since launching its inaugural class in May 2018, Leadership Hoover has brought together leaders and emerging leaders from across the Hoover–Birmingham community who live and work in Hoover and are committed to making a meaningful impact.
Through its cohorts, Leadership Hoover has helped spark initiatives that continue to strengthen our community, including the IGNITE Hoover Youth Leadership program, now in its third year. As Leadership Hoover and IGNITE continue to grow, they provide space for diverse voices, new ideas, and collaboration that help move Hoover forward. At its core, Leadership Hoover is about cultivating informed, engaged leaders and fostering pride in the place we all call home.
Mission
The purpose of Leadership Hoover is to develop a class of qualified, highly motivated individuals who are interested in expanding their leadership skills, deepening their sense of civic responsibility, and becoming more involved in helping their community as a whole while learning first-hand about the issues and needs in the City of Hoover.
